Dr. Kian has authored over ten medical publications in prominent journals. He has recently authored a book chapter on upper facial rejuvenation in Bailey’s Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the textbook used to train most North American physicians in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.

Dr. Kian’s primary research efforts focus on exploring ethical considerations in cosmetic rhinoplasty surgery and to propose guidelines for other facial plastic and plastic surgeons. In 2011, Dr. Kian’s research project titled “Ethical Considerations in Aesthetic Rhinoplasty” was chosen to receive the John Orlando Roe award by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). This award is given to the best clinical paper produced in that year. Additionally, he has been selected to give two presentations at the annual academic meeting sponsored by the AAFPRS in San Francisco in the Fall of 2011.

Dr. Kian is one of the nation's pioneers in advocating the use of a blunt microcannula for safer and bruise-less injection of facial fillers. He is the national medical director for CosmoFrance, Inc. and teaches doctors and nurses from around the world at his office on a regular basis.
